Hello all,
New here and having fits with upgrading from OS 9.2.1 to 10.1. I can load OS-X.1 but then have problems with opening dmg files trying to change the default browser. Present downloads take a long time, and then are "iffy". Default browser, (excite), comes up with overwritten text and sections that constantly "flash". Generally a visual mess.
I have OS-X Tiger standing by, but what's the point if I can't make 10.1 work right?
The latest version of XPF that I can download and launch is 3.0a17.1 and then it fails because it cannot write to NVRAM. Needless to say, I have tried multiple installs of OS-X.1 and jumped through the usual hoops that I know of, as well as those found online.
Other problems as well, but to keep this somewhat short, I will leave it with this for now.
I have a Power MAC G-4, 466, Mod. 7627, from about mid 2001.

Thanks for any and all help,
Regards to all,
J. D. Whitlock
